Avenue des courses

This building includes six floors of flats, with offices on the ground floor and a penthouse on the top floor. The style and the white colour of the surrounding buildings were a guideline for the project. Reduction of traffic areas and rational layout of the flats were important criteria in the reconstruction.
The building is very well insulated through the use of FSC wood, Resol and wood fibre. It fulfils the passive criterion splendidly, with a heating consumption of 12kWh/m2.yr. Each flat has a west-facing terrace. Overheating in the summer is prevented thanks to 135 cm thick terraces and exterior shutters.
Seventy-five square metres of photovoltaic solar panels have been installed, as well as a 10m3 rainwater cistern and a storm water tank. The building is equipped with extensive green roofs and patios on the ground floor.
