Initiated in 2009-2010, this project is located in the Place Saint-Pierre neighbourhood, between the Cinquantenaire, Mérode, the Avenue de Tervuren and the Avenue de la Chasse. The project is developed around five central themes: development of sustainable consumption and food; awareness of “soft” mobility; development of rainwater recovery and energy saving activities; planting façades and developing green roofs; a transversal theme: promoting conviviality and the “village square” aspect of the Place Saint-Pierre.

Two neighbourhood picnics were organised in 2010 in the aim of improving relations between neighbours in order to construct ecological alternatives together. Various projects are under development for 2011, such as a seed and seedling market, creation of a bicycle repair workshop and a bicycle market, showings of films and documentaries, installation of a composting site in a neighbourhood school and production of a film on (vermi)composting with children. Composed of neighbourhood residents, the steering group is supported by numerous public and organisational partners.
