A Bruxelles, découvrez:

Caméléon

This new structure houses a new sales location for the retailer Caméléon, bordering on the Brussels ring road. Its 13,311m² area also includes a neighbourhood child care centre for 39 children and a concierge service.
The planting of new indigenous trees, development of an intensive green roof and installation of beehives contribute to the biodiversity of the site. The energy challenge lies in the passive management of cooling thanks to optimal orientation of the building with regard to sun influx, sun shades and the thermal inertia. The central atrium allows natural ventilation for fresh air and passive cooling.
A pellet boiler supplies 75% of the heating needs, which are reduced to 13 kWh/m².yr (Brussels average: 106). Rainwater cisterns provide more than three months of self-sufficiency for sanitation and maintenance needs. Materials have been chosen with care according to their environmental balance.
