IMMI school

The IMMI school is located in a multicultural neighbourhood of Anderlecht. One of these buildings was so old that the management of the school decided to demolish it and replace it by a new complex with a wood frame, insulated with cellulose.
A building shell complying with the passive standard was chosen, while materials were selected as a function of their environmental impact.
Ventilation is entirely mechanical and the fresh air intake is preheated with the aid of a heat exchanger in the air evacuation circuit. The 3 m2of thermal solar cells on the roof supply 50% of the heat necessary for domestic hot water production.
Rainwater is collected, filtered and reused. This filtration even makes it drinkable. Flow rate limiting faucets, double flush toilets and automatic rinsing urinals have been installed. The high-efficiency lighting and ventilation are controlled using presence detectors.
