Rue de la poste

This building of single-family social housing units has been erected in the context of urban renewal in Schaerbeek. The former building was demolished, except for the basement. With its prefabricated wooden framework structure and its sustainable materials - façade cladding of heat-treated wood, interior finishing in OSB and linoleum - the construction fulfils the quality requirements for social housing with extremely low consumption of resources.
On a street corner, the building has a blind wall that presents few losses. And consumption complies with the passive standard, with 14kWh/m2.yr. Thermal solar panels over a 7.5 m2 area supply almost 70% of the domestic hot water needs.
The faucets and layout of the plumbing aim to limit water consumption. The building is equipped with a 30m2 extensive green roof, and acoustic comfort is carefully thought out, thanks to the wooden framework, double-thick dividing walls and triple glazing.
