Rue de Sebastopol

This construction of five residences with a wooden structure fulfils the passive standard on a difficult site: the project, on a street corner, is located above a metro station. The ground-floor slab has been designed as a cantilevered raft slab, supported by the mudded wall of the station.
It is insulated from below using a layer of expanded glass aggregate. The materials used are FSC wood, cellulose, wood fibre and linoleum. The very good insulation resulting from the concrete (interior) and wood for the frame, the façades and the window frames reduces heating consumption to 14 kWh/m2.yr. The ventilation is mechanical. Fourteen square metres of solar panels are coupled to a 1000 L boiler. The 50m2 extensive green roof improves management of summertime overheating.
