Rue du serpentin
The client’s requirements were significant for this project: making a residence with high architectural quality and increased energy performance profitable, while keeping it simple and pleasant as a place to live. It is composed of a three-bedroom residence for the owners, a two-bedroom residence, and a common area for waste, and bicycle and automobile parking.
For the structure of the new building, a PEFC certified wood frame was chosen. During demolition, masonry, wood, steel, and concrete materials were recovered. The overall heating consumption comes to 29 kWh/m2.yr.
The storeys receive light through both façades, which allow efficient summertime ventilation. Twelve square metres of solar panels have been installed, as well as a 7m3 rainwater cistern. Water use is rationalised. Planting consists of a 40 m2 extensive green roof and protective screens.
