Rue St-François child care centre
This structure strives to preserve the green character of the interior of the block, and increases its quality through installation of an extensive green roof and climbing vegetation on the façades.
Diversity of function is one of the strong points of this project: it provides a 30-bed child care centre and three residences for persons with reduced mobility, fulfilling the passive criteria. Building insulation is ensured by a wooden façade and triple glazing.
Heat production is centralised and provided via the ventilation, given the low heating needs, which result in a record consumption ranging from 7 to 13kWh/m2.yr.
Rainwater recovery and use of solar panels for preheating domestic hot water contribute to reducing the consumption of water and energy.
