Rue Tazieaux
Two completely dilapidated adjacent apartment buildings have been demolished and replaced by construction of four new residences fulfilling the passive standard. The rubble, sorted on-site, is used as filler to create the upper level of the garden.
Components of the demolished floors serve as formwork for the non-exposed concrete. The simplicity of shape, the compactness of the volume heated, the favourable orientation (south-facing rear façade), a gas condensing boiler, and double flow ventilation with heat recovery reduce the need for heating energy to 15 kWh/m2.yr.
Free cooling and mechanical ventilation contribute to the comfort of the occupants, while 20 m2 of thermal panels heat the domestic water. A 10m3 cistern allows rational use of rainwater. The complex is planted with a 130 m2 extensive green roof and a garden.
