The major renovation of this building consists of completely stripping the existing building, totalling eight storeys of offices and two basements of car parks and technical facilities.
The 6thand 7th storeys have been completely demolished and rebuilt. Special attention has been paid to airtightness and thermal bridges. An “intelligent” vapour barrier membrane has been installed on the roof and the façades are equipped with high-performance insulation. Energy consumption for heating is reduced to 15 kWh/m2.yr.
Cooling is provided by a free cooling system integrated into the ventilation unit. The facilities are supplemented by 300 m2 of photovoltaic solar panels and 128 m2 of extensive green roof. To verify the performance of the building as a whole, a mock-up, a full-sized office module with all its dividing walls, including a portion of façade, allows airtightness to be tested to verify the predictions, and, using what is learned from these results, adapt the system as necessary.
