A Bruxelles, découvrez:

UHC Brugmann

The Paul Brien site is developed by the UHC Brugmann hospital, SIAMU (the Fire Brigade and Emergency Medical Service) and the “La Cerisaie” rest and nursing home. All the site buildings are built to the low-energy standard. In this connection, there has been heavy investment in advanced insulation and highly airtight building shells.
The heating needs of the hospital are only 8.4 kWh/m².yr (Brussels average: 106). The site benefits from a collective sustainable power plant operating by cogeneration. A heating facility operating on colza oil and a pellet boiler supply 100% of the renewable heat and at least 15% of the renewable electricity for the site.
The numerous medical facilities emit a significant quantity of heat and must be operated in a specific way in the summer, while in the winter they provide an almost free method of heating.
