The valley of the Woluwe

This 9 km-long section crosses the Brussels part of the valley of the Woluwe, one of the principal tributaries of the Senne with its source in the Forest of Soignes. The valley is part of the Natura 2000 European ecological network, which has the general objective of preserving biodiversity. Main attractions The Domaine des Silex and the Hof ter Musschen, semi-natural sites offering great biological diversity.

Vast landscaped parks: Malou, Seny, Ten Reuken, Tournay-Solvay and Woluwe. Former Brussels-Tervuren railway line redesigned as a promenade by construction of several passageways, the most important of which is thatspanning the Avenue de Tervuren.

Nearby: the Marie la Misérable chapel, château of Val-Duchesse, Rouge-Cloître abbey and nature reserve. Part of the section passes over the heights above the valley, along Pinnebeek lane, and crosses the Forest of Soignes.
