Energy

Society today has a heavy reliance on energy in order to function, for example to heat up or cool down buildings, to make journeys, to power industrial processes, to provide illumination, to make appliances work, etc. Currently, our main source of energy is fossil fuels, which are finite, and when combusted are the cause of air pollutants including fine particles, nitrogen oxides and also CO2 (the main greenhouse gas), etc.

Consequently, reducing energy consumption or using renewable energy would make a contribution towards improving air quality and limiting climate change.
